Reconnecting with Nature
Osprey will discuss some of the topics in her new book, Uprisings for the Earth: Reconnecting Culture with Nature, including:
* Unfolding historical and current information that shines a light on causes leading to our current global environmental peril, while also providing a well of hope and insight about what we can do now
* Infusing our cultural discourse with the language and wisdom of nature, seeing nature as a model for societal change, and learning to bring this vocabulary front and center in our everyday lives
* Exploring a new kind of kinship with nature while acknowledging the treasures of urban life
* Becoming alert to images, language, stories and media that either distances or enhances our relationship to the natural world and our local bioregions
