2010 Week of Spirituality, Values & Global Concerns Closing Remarks

>>Sponsored by the Spiritual Dimensions of Science and Consciousness (SDSC), a Working Group of CSVGC-NY**
A Program held as part of the 2010 Week of Spirituality to Observe UN Day
A Project of the NGO Committee on Spirituality, Values and Global Concerns - NY (CONGO)
This program has been inspired by the United Nations' International Year for the Rapprochement of Cultures. Because of its mandate, UNESCO has been designated to oversee plans to observe this year. See, for example, the following website:
http://www.unesco.org/en/2010-international-year-for-the-rapprochement-of-cultures/
One of the four designated program themes asks for a focus on "building a framework for commonly shared values." Thus, this program will address the need to promote awareness of universal, transcendental, spiritual values at the United Nations in order to achieve a "Rapprochement of Cultures." It is these spiritual, transcendent and universal values, which represent a more inclusive dimension of consciousness. |

Talk, meditation & discussion with Kathy Newburn:
|
Meditation is one of the most effective tools for individual and planetary transformation, especially when undertaken by a group. Our planet is undergoing a crisis and indeed this is said to be the most momentous period in planetary history. As we learn about the available zodiacal and ray energies underlying any time cycle, we can more effectively help to shift the balance towards the light.
In this group we will also work with simple concentration, visualization and meditation techniques to become more effective in our daily lives and service work. We will discuss topics of interest related to the spiritual path within the context of global events. Please join us for this ongoing group.
All are welcome. Please forward to anyone you know who might be interested. |
